3 Ways you are LOSING Money on Facebook

I bet you think you have this Facebook(FB) platform all figured out. You have read the books, blogs and went to several workshops and there is NOTHING else you can learn about Facebook!! I guarantee you after reading this blog post you are going to SCREAM because just when you thought you had it all figured out you don’t.

Facebook and I have a love and hate relationship. I love what it does to my business but I hate when they have updates. I know the updates sometimes are for the better but it’s not all the time and the updates are like EVERYDAY! When I teach my social media courses I always give a disclaimer that as we navigate through the system there may be some new things since I updated the presentation. Actually this is what inspired me to write this blog.

I realize that with so many Facebook updates many small businesses are losing money. They are either spending money in the wrong places on FB or they are missing some great features that could help them expand their business. The Business Dr. doesn’t want you to loose in business but instead win; Here are 3 ways you are LOOSING money on Facebook:

1. Boosting post– Boosting a post does nothing but boost the post in your timeline. Many of your friends may have already purchased your product, or opt-in to your lead magnet. You should not boost a post but instead you should create a Facebook Ad. Facebook Ads allow you to market to individuals outside your friend list who match exact demographics. You can clearly define who you want that add to be market too.

2. Not having a call to action– A few months ago Facebook released an update that allows you to create a call to action that can be placed on y our cover photo. When you are looking at the results you want from Facebook you should align it with your call to action button. EVERYONE should have a call to action.

3. Not scheduling your post through FacebookFacebook now allows you to schedule your post. Although other engagement tools allow you to do this across the board, you should utilize this feature within the Facebook platform. Because Facebook has new algorithms the post you scheduled through your engagement tool will not get seen before the ones you schedule within Facebook.

Changing these weaknesses in your Facebook marketing strategy can increase your engagement and ultimately increase your business revenue.
