4 Innovative ways to Market your Business using Social Media in 2016

Innovation is the key to a successful business. As you should know by now marketing is a moving target and if you aren’t innovative you will not be able to reach new customers or maintain old customers. As I watch the trends on consumer buying habits for 2016, there is a large trend of consumers spending more liberal these days rather than conservative like in the previous years and are purchasing most of their products based off social media recommendations or E Word of Mouth Marketing (EWOM). The Internet and Social Media reach a large audience but also housed a large audience of small and large businesses. This means that your competition just got more intense and larger. This means you need to be very strategic with your social media marketing. When you are planning your social media marketing strategy, think about these 4 innovative ways to market your business.

  1. Let your current customer do the selling. Statistics shows that most people purchase items based off a recommendation. Whether you have a brick and mortar business or an internet based business, allow your current customers to sell your products or services. You can simply do this by having them post reviews or testimonials or simply offering them a percentage off when they check in or tag you on your chosen Social Media platform.
  2. Create a special Facebook group. This may seem like just another thing to manage, but it is an effective way to market your business. Forming Facebook groups around your expertise, interest or business put people together in one space that all interested in the same things. Marketing to people that want or need your product and services is important.
  3. Video ads that reflect your brand. Long gone are the boring purchase this product video ad and you get this result. Bring in your personality and the process.
  4. Uplift other businesses or business owners! I am sorry, but it’s lonely at the top, and you shouldn’t want to be alone. Take the time and ask others to post links to their business or highlight other businesses. We all need praise and be the one uplift others. This is a great way to social others that you do care about what they have going on and will bring positive awareness to what you have going on.

Social media does not always have to be so serious when it relates to business. Be yourself and allow your personality to come out. Yes, you want to be mindful of your brand, but you also don’t want your brand voice to be someone else. Social media is a great way for you to dig deep into your creative side!
