4 ways Swim Class can build confidence in your Child

4 ways Swim Class can build confidence in your Child

Hey there, I’m back and I’m super excited to share how putting Ryann into swim class has helped build my seven-year-old’s confidence.

If you read my last blog, I talked about how important it was for me to enroll her in swim class. I am adamant about her being very comfortable in the water so that she can enjoy life with her friends and be safe when I’m not around.

But, recently I discovered that enrolling her in swim class had a much bigger outcome than expected. She’s been in class for over a month now, and she FINALLY is comfortable with putting her head under the water. This has been such a long journey because Ryann was not only scared to put her head under water, but she lacked the confidence needed to fade her fears. Goldfish Swim School (GFSS) in Owings Mills, Maryland helped remove her fears and boosted her confidence. Here are four ways Goldfish Swim School was able to achieve this within one month of working with Ryann.

Encouragement– During each session, the staff set goals for each student, and there are some instances where Ryann and the other students may not achieve her goal, but the staff at GFSS constantly praise the students and encourage her to keep trying.

TrustGoldfish Swim School techniques of teaching are unique and they are awesome with trust building with their students.  Immediately after beginning her first session Ryann was very comfortable with each staff member.

Compassion– The staff at GFSS shows compassion for the students. They never want to see their students frown. When Ryann felt discouraged about not hitting her goal, they found a unique way to turn her frown upside down. She leaves each session smiling and ready for the next session.

Fun–  No matter what GFSS ensures that the students don’t forget to have fun while learning. Ryann sometimes doesn’t realize that she is learning because she is always having so much fun!

Through this journey, I have witnessed Ryann confidence boost, and she is starting to try things she has never tried before. When she is home in the bathtub she is putting the techniques she learned in class to use. All around she is walking around with her head high and understands that she can achieve whatever she put her mind to.  I can honestly say it was because of the process with Goldfish Swim School. I am super excited to see what she learns how to do in the next few weeks at GFSS!
