I know you probably think that I am simply crazy for writing something like this, but actually I am as sane as can be!!! A few years ago you would NEVER hear me say “I don’t care.” I was a worry worm along with having OCD. It was not until I met my partner a few years ago, Jasmine Simms (owner of Scrub Nail Boutique) who had this attitude about life that I admired so much. She took ALL the punches without flinching (at least the world didn’t see her flinch). I admired that so much and prayed that I could get to that point in my life. I wanted to get to the point where small things didn’t bother me. I knew if I didn’t learn how to let things go and allow them to work themselves out that I would end up in the crazy house.
One day I woke up and it was one of those days where EVERYTHING was going wrong! Instead of me crying and going into a panic I simply prayed and kept it going. That very moment I realize that I can’t control everything and everyone. Everything is not going to ALWAYS go perfect and it’s OK. I had to learn how to let go and let GOD! Let me tell you every since that day my life has had minimum stress.
I stop caring about the pillows being in the right space and fluff properly; I stop caring about things not going perfectly; I stop caring about what others thought about me if I missed an event; I stop caring about all the small things that would stress me out. Thanks to my good girlfriend Jasmine I realize that there are somethings I just don’t have control over and what’s meant will happen as long as you are consistent, persistent and living your purpose!
Next time the kids spill juice on the floor, the husband forget something or that event didn’t go exactly as planned celebrate the small things and keep it moving. I am not saying completely forget about it but use those things as learning opportunities instead of stress buzzers (I just made that up but I define stress buzzers as those things that will completely piss you off and stress you out).
Here’s my challenge to you: Write down those small things that stress you out. Take that piece of paper and throw it away and along with your stress!!
Thank me later
